Oncology Diagnostics Intern

Our Position
Reporting to the Lead, Diagnostics Strategy, this internship role will be a critical team member who will manage and lead projects that have tangible impacts within the rare disease healthcare space.
The successful candidate will be able to leverage their current scientific, clinical and/or pharmaceutical industry experience to make an impact identifying appropriate patients for novel therapies. The Diagnostics team is a newly developed group with an exciting start-up, entrepreneurial feel that will aide in providing reducing the time to diagnosis for patients, as well as ensure access to niche laboratory tests. We work in full coordination with the entire cross functional team including Commercial, Medical and PSP.
Some key areas of focus for 2025 include:
- Practical application of innovative AI-enabled digital solution to reduce the time to diagnosis for patients, including design of scaled implementation
- Improving access and standardization of laboratory testing within the rare disease community
- Achieving standardization of diagnostic approaches within complex disease states by supporting the adoption of protocols and publication of guidelines
What will help you to be successful:
- Enrolled in a Masters program
- Minimum two years of relevant work experience prior to the Masters program
- Background in science, as understanding disease pathophysiology and laboratory test design is important to fully understand the scope of the key projects
- Advanced ability to work independently and lead initiatives; results and performance driven
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders. You must be comfortable guiding discussions with a collaborative mindset.
- Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail, organization and demonstrated project management skills
- Demonstrated leadership competencies including strategic thinking and intellectual curiosity
- Orientation to customer/patient experience, design thinking, and operational excellence is an asset, however not required
- An entrepreneurial spirit, able to adapt with change and proactively propose solutions

What to Expect:
This role is a 12-month paid contract position, which starts in January 2026 and will end in December 2026. Our position will be based in our Mississauga head office and allow for flexible working arrangements working both onsite (2-3 times per week) and virtually.
